On the morning of our last day of term (Thursday 18th December) we invited the families and carers of our pupils to join us for our annual Christmas Celebration at the Herongate Club.

Armistice Day, or Remembrance Day as it's also known, marks the very day that World War One ended in 1918. Oaklands School has been marking the occasion in a variety of ways.

Before we broke up for the half term holiday Chestnut held their own Halloween party in class. Staff and pupils dressed up as Gru and Dave from Minions, a spooky witch and Jack Skellington from The Nightmare Before Christmas.

Pine class held a coffee morning for the parents of their pupils last Friday (10th October) in the auditorium of the Herongate Club.

World Teachers’ Day is held annually on 5 October to celebrate all teachers around the globe. It has been celebrated since 1994.

Before we broke up for the summer holidays, Maple class took an extra special trip to Bournemouth for the day.

On Wednesday 16th July, we were really pleased to welcome a team from Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue to school.

At the end of the Summer Term the whole of Oaklands School participated in its annual Sports Day.

Cedar class had great fun when they recently visited the English Heritage site, Donnington Castle.

On Wednesday 26th February Isaiah from Ash class and two members of our staff team appeared live on BBC Radio Berkshire.

Everyone in Hazel class has been busy with their learning this half term.

Ash class have taken part in a variety of different activities so far this year.

On Wednesday 8th January Maple Class began the New Year with a visit to Oxford University Museum of Natural History.

Earlier this week Hazel class went to the Play Barn at Cobbs farm shop in Hungerford.

On Wednesday 23rd October Elm class went on a visit to Avebury Henge, which is recognised as a World Heritage Site.

Chestnut class recently enjoyed a trip to The Ugly Duckling Pottery Painting Studio in Newbury.

Ash class recently took a boat trip along the Kennet and Avon Canal, from Great Bedwyn to Crofton in a wide beam canal boat named ‘Diana’.
