A very warm welcome to
Oaklands School in Hungerford

Oaklands School is a new co-educational, independent Special Educational Needs (SEN) day school in Hungerford, West Berkshire, We provide unique, contemporary and enjoyable learning experiences for young people aged 5 – 16 years with special and individual needs. We offer places to children with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) in place, via Reading and West Berkshire local authorities.

Our special school offers a warm and friendly environment for learning. We provide specialist support for pupils with unique learning profiles, including: autism, Asperger’s Syndrome and associated communication and language needs, as well as social, emotional and mental health needs.

We believe that such differences need not be barriers to success, and we have taken the very best school practices and built them into our school.

Our curriculum offer is broad, balanced, and personalised to meet each individual pupil’s needs and is supplemented by a wide range of extra-curricular activities.

Our approach fits perfectly with the children’s EHCP plans that encourage personalisation, partnership working, accountability and best value for money.

We welcome parental and carer engagement and feedback on all aspects of our school. Our success will be measured by your success.

We look forward to creating our school together with you.

From a very happy parent:

"I just wanted to say thank you very much for offering [our son] a place in your school. We absolutely loved everyone we met the day we visited, and we have high hopes that [our son] will thrive there. [Our son] is looking forward to starting in the 'brand new school', not just a new school, it is a brand new school, this is what he tells everyone!"
