Welcome to Hazel Class 🌿

Hazel Class is an EYFS-inspired classroom environment where we use the Equals Informal Curriculum and Early Learning Goals to shape our everyday learning and experiences.

We believe that children learn best when they are comfortable, engaged and having fun. We love exploring and learning through practical, hands-on experiences, from messy tuff tray activities and creative play to cooking, gardening and developing important life skills.

We love taking our learning beyond the classroom and exploring our local community. We enjoy feeding the ducks, visiting the park, exploring the woods and spending time in nature. Our garden is a very special part of Hazel Class and gives us wonderful opportunities to be outdoors, explore, move, play and connect with the world around us.

Music is a very important part of our day. We have daily group sessions where we enjoy singing together, exploring musical instruments and making music. These sessions give us opportunities to communicate, express ourselves and share experiences together.

We believe that learning can happen anywhere – in the garden, in a tent, at the table, on a walk or through play. We are flexible in our approach and adapt our environment and activities to make sure every child feels comfortable, safe and ready to learn.

We also love bringing stories and books to life. We use books as a starting point for creative activities, sensory exploration, role play and practical experiences, helping children develop a love of stories while building their communication, language and understanding of the world.

At Hazel Class, we celebrate small steps, big achievements and the unique ways each child learns. Our aim is to create a nurturing, engaging environment where every child can explore, communicate, develop independence and, most importantly, enjoy learning.
