A very warm welcome to Maple Class!

 

We are delighted to welcome you and your child to our class and are looking forward to a happy, busy and exciting year together.

Maple Class is led by Sam, our Class Lead, who works closely with Claire, our Higher Level Teaching Assistant, and Jackie and Lesley, our Learning Support Assistants. Together, we make a caring, enthusiastic and experienced team who are passionate about helping every child feel valued, understood and successful. We work closely together to ensure that each pupil receives the support, encouragement and challenge they need throughout their school day.

In Maple Class, we believe that children learn best when they feel happy, safe and secure. We are very proud of the warm and friendly atmosphere in our classroom and place great importance on building positive relationships with our pupils. We celebrate individual achievements, encourage independence and make sure that every child knows that their contribution to our class is important.
Our days are busy, varied and full of opportunities to learn. Alongside our classroom learning, we enjoy practical activities, creative experiences and opportunities to explore the world around us. We understand that every pupil learns differently, so we use a range of approaches to make learning engaging, accessible and meaningful.

One of the things we particularly enjoy in Maple Class is taking our learning beyond the classroom. Throughout the year, we have lots of exciting outings and visits linked to our curriculum. These experiences allow our pupils to see, explore and experience the things they have been learning about and help to develop their confidence, communication, independence and life skills along the way.
As a team, Sam, Claire, Jackie and Lesley bring different strengths, skills and personalities to Maple Class, but we all share the same goal: to help our pupils learn, grow, develop confidence and enjoy coming to school. We celebrate the small steps just as much as the big achievements and are always incredibly proud of the progress our pupils make.

We also really value our relationship with parents and carers. Working together and sharing information helps us to understand and support each child as an individual, and we want families to feel that they are an important part of our Maple Class community.

Most importantly, we want Maple Class to be a place filled with kindness, encouragement, laughter, learning and lots of happy memories. We are very lucky to have such a wonderful group of pupils and adults, and we are excited to see what adventures this year will bring.
