Willow Class

Welcome to Willow Class!
In Willow Class, our pupils are encouraged to fully engage with school life and thrive in their learning. Our aim is to support each young person to tackle every opportunity and experience they are presented with. Classroom learning is enriched through projects, research and discussion, as well as opportunities to explore the local environment of Hungerford. With the support of experienced staff, Willow is guided by our class teacher, Alice.
Our mornings focus on key academic learning, with structured lessons in English and Mathematics. Afternoons offer a wider curriculum including Science, Geography, and History, alongside hands-on and creative opportunities such as cooking and art. We also benefit from weekly PE sessions at the fantastic leisure centre across the road, as well as access to local gardening, horse riding and swimming sessions. These activities not only promote physical wellbeing but also help build confidence, social skills, and wider transferable abilities.
We aim for each day to be clearly and thoughtfully structured so pupils understand what is expected of them and feel secure in their routine. This supports them in making the best possible progress as individuals and helps them follow the school expectations outlined in The Oaklands Way. As they move through the school, pupils are given opportunities to make more choices in their day and take increasing responsibility for their own learning.
