Happy Halloween from Chestnut class!
Before we broke up for the half term holiday Chestnut held their own Halloween party in class. Staff and pupils dressed up as Gru and Dave from Minions, a spooky witch and Jack Skellington from The Nightmare Before Christmas. Everyone had a spine-chilling time!
Earlier in the week, Chestnut went on a class trip to the The Ugly Duckling pottery painting studio in Newbury. This trip incorporated all our learning over this half term, from being in our community to our PSHE topics of responsibility and expectation of our trip. We did had to adapt our planned train ride to a mini bus, due to weather, but we showed our ability to adapt to change and managed this well. Finally, we had a great time choosing piece of pottery and painting it independently.
Chestnut also went to The Tutti Pole in Hungerford for an amazing lunch. They independently ordered their own lunches and even had time for pudding! It was a lovely cross curricular activity including their learning from Understanding the World Around Us and People in our Community. Their trip also helped Chestnut to understand how we all like different things.
