Last Friday (12th June) Hazel class took a trip to Smelly Wellies Farm in Woodcote. Their Class Teacher, Charlotte, fills us in on their amazing day out.
"Hazel Class travelled all the way to Smelly Wellies Farm to meet lots of friendly animals. It was a long journey, but when we arrived, the children were absolutely brilliant and so kind to all of our furry friends.
First, we met some hungry guinea pigs. We enjoyed gently stroking them and feeding them lettuce. Next, we visited some chickens, ducks and cockerels, who were very friendly. We were quite jealous of their pond, and a few of us even tried to have a little dip!
We were also lucky enough to see a chicken egg that had just hatched.
After that, we went on to meet sheep, pigs, lambs and llamas. We learned that, just like us, they need lots of yummy food to fuel their bodies, and we had the opportunity to help feed them. It tickled our hands, but we stayed very still and were incredibly brave.
We loved exploring the farm and meeting all the animals. Everyone showed such kindness and care with their hands throughout the day.
Great job, Hazel Class! We are so proud of you all. 🐷🐑🐔🦙🐹"
