Two students from Ash Class organised a beautiful afternoon tea for some specially invited members of staff last Friday (23rd January).
Eliza and Leigha made the delicious gluten free sandwiches, scones and cupcakes themselves and decorated the Ash common room with bunting. The table was laid out with pretty floral plates, napkins and tablecloths and the centerpiece was a fabulous Alice in Wonderland cake stand.
The afternoon tea project was part of the ASDAN qualifications that the pupils are studying for in Personal and Social Development.
ASDAN is an education charity and awarding organisation offering courses, accredited curriculum programmes and UK-regulated qualifications to learners working from Key Stage 2 from pre-Entry to Level 3.
With over 30 years experience providing skills-based education, ASDAN exists to advance education and improve outcomes for learners with diverse needs, particularly those facing barriers to success.
The Personal and Social Development (PSD) qualifications offer imaginative ways of supporting young people in:
becoming confident individuals who are physically, emotionally and socially healthy
being responsible citizens who make a positive contribution to society and embrace change
managing risk together with their own wellbeing
as well as introducing them to new activities and personal challenges.
