Oaklands Pupils get into the Groove

Pupils throughout the school have recently been participating in some marvellous music sessions with Sam from Groove Studio.

Sam is bringing his electric guitar and drum kit into school, on a weekly basis, so that our pupils can participate by having a go at playing the instruments or singing along to their favourite tunes.

Some of our pupils have also started having one to one lessons with Sam on the drums and guitar.

Learning an instrument is essentially a full-body workout for the brain. It enhances cognitive functions like memory and problem-solving, relieves stress, and builds patience and discipline.

It looks like we may have some talented musicians and singers in the making. We may even have our very own Oaklands rock band one day!
