Make Firework Cake Pops with Beech Class
This week Beech class have been making Bonfire Night-themed fireworks cake pops.
The children carefully mixed food colouring to create both primary and secondary colours. They then decorated their cake pops with great care, producing some fantastic firework-inspired designs.
If you would like to make your own Firework Cake Pops here's the recipe:
Ingredients
For the cake balls
1 readymade chocolate or vanilla cake
50 grams of frosting (vanilla or chocolate depending on the flavour of your cake)
For the coating
300 grams of white chocolate
Assorted food colouring
For decoration
Assorted colourful sprinkles
Cake pop sticks
Method
Crumble the cake into fine crumbs in a large mixing bowl
Add frosting to the crumbs and mix until the mixture holds together when pressed
Roll the mixture into 1 inch balls and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet
Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, or until firm
Melt the chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring every 30 seconds until smooth
Mix in 1-2 drops of food coloring to the chocolate, if desired
Dip the tip of each cake pop stick into the melted chocolate, then insert the stick halfway into the cake ball
Dip each cake ball into the melted chocolate, ensuring it is fully coated.
Allow the excess chocolate to drip off
Before the chocolate sets decorate with sprinkles
Let the sprinkle covered chocolate set
ENJOY!
